DANVILLE -- The Huskies came out and dominated the first part of this game against the Butterfly Kisses, but the Kisses got a single breakaway and got behind the defense and was able to start the scoring of this game to take the lead 1-0. The Huskies managed to tie up the game when Amanda Fornataro got her second goal of the season. The Huskies took the tie into halftime, feeling like they should be leading by more than a few goals.

The Huskies came out in the second half and it turned into the Emily Glaser show. I’m not sure how many times her teammates got her the ball, but Emily sprinted up that left sideline many many times this half and crossed the ball in front of the goal giving her teammates a bunch of chances to score. Both Colleen Tolan and Erin Cantoni did a nice job of finishing two of Emily’s crosses, giving the Huskies a 3-1 lead. The Butterfly Kisses did manage another goal and challenged in the final seconds, but Elizabeth Castaneda made the final save to help the Huskies hold on for the win.

One of the exciting parts of this game was that Colleen scored her first goal in about three years, so she was very excited, except her dad was not at the game to see it. We do have Colleen’s goal on the website, so make sure to check that out.
